VBA to .NET Code Migration

Autodesk has historically provided a set of tools that enable you to customize their products to better fit your specific needs when using the software. These tools have included Microsoft’s Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), which provided a fairly robust, easy-to-learn and easy-to-maintain method of creating custom code.

In 2009, Microsoft decided to discontinue support for third parties (including Autodesk) that use VBA technology and are turning their focus to the new .NET framework. While Autodesk is dedicated to bringing you new tools that address your design needs going forward, it is not always possible for them to continue to support aging technologies such as VBA—especially when the developer of that technology is phasing it out in favor of new ones.
